Results: The Bulgarian laws that govern preventive healthcare reflect the main requirements of the European Health 2020 Strategy for providing free and equal access to healthcare (disease prevention and health promotion respectively) and universal coverage. Preventive healthcare in the country is regulated and is governed by a number of documents – laws and regulations. Conclusion: Prevention in EU countries still begins earlier, takes place more often and covers a more complete set of laboratory examinations and imaging studies.
