Abstract: The profession of a water rescuer is characterized by a high degree of
responsibility and risk. Water lifeguards need to have high stress resistance, equanimity, high
frustration threshold and self-control. The influence of the environment (wind, high
temperatures) and at the same time communication with people on the beach require high
situational alertness, concentration, good communication skills and the ability to react
quickly and adequately in different types of conflict and risk situations. Tracking and
comparing the results obtained in this study of the personality characteristics of water
lifeguards will contribute in the long term to the derivation of a personal psychological
profile of the water lifeguard, and in the short term will contribute to confirm the adequacy of
the methodologies used for self-assessment and the impact of events in global perspective on
the personality. Comparing and analyzing the results of the trainees for water rescuers in
2020 and 2021 shows that the psychological methodologies used to assess psychological
states and stress resilience meet the objectives of the study and show dynamics in the average
