PARENTS ' ADJUSTMENT TO ACCEPTANCE AND IMPLEMENT OF NORMATIVE DOCUMENTS IN FAMILY RELATIONS REGARDING CHILDREN’S RIGHTS, Neli Gradinarova, Magdalena Aleksandrova, Radka Goranova

Abstract: Introduction:Children are holders of human rights and the specificity of these rights
implies a strong protection and care they need.
Objective:To study the attitudes of parents regarding the adoption and implementation of
normative documents in family relations regarding children's rights is essential to identify
trends and their impact.
Material and methods:For the purpose of the study in the period 01.12.2019-01.01.2020 an
empirical sociological survey was conducted among 201 parents, and for the purpose of the
study a direct individual survey was developed, aimed at parents in the country.
Results: More than half of the surveyed parents - 53.2% indicated that they were informed
about the rights of children in the country, 42.3% indicated that they were partially informed
and only 4.5% indicated that they were not informed. Almost half of the respondents or 46.8.
% indicated that they partially accept the regulation of children's rights, 35.3% stated that they
fully accept this regulation, and 15.4% indicated that they partially do not accept the regulation
of children's rights through the legislation in the country and only 2.5% indicated that
categorically do not accept the regulation of the rights of the child. More than half or 51.2% of
the respondents indicated that they partially accept the state intervention through the legal
regulation in the country in the family relations parent-child, 18.9% indicated that they fully
accept this type of intervention, 21.4 % indicated that they partially do not accept this type of
regulation / intervention and only 8.5% categorically do not accept this type of intervention.
Conclusions: The lack of understanding of the problem leads to its denial and to the diversity
of parents' answers about the need for legal regulation of children's rights. The legal framework
in the country aims to directly protect and guarantee the rights of children without affecting
interferes in the parent-child relationship.
